Billie Holiday

For this piece I wanted to create a new picture of Billie Holiday. I really wanted to capture her attitude, and the way she held/carried herself while singing. But since she's no longer performing I can't just go to a show and see her for myself. One if the tricks I picked up that helped me out was renting a film with Billie in it, setting my camera up in front of my TV and shooting some reference photos. Her hands communicated a lot while she was singing. The finish isn't a specific moment. It's a conglomeration of a bunch of performances.
